Received Wednesday, 10.55 a.m. TOKIO, March 19. Four thousand New Zealanc soidiers who fought in Italy and 7^ nurses have arrived in Kure, via the Suez Canal, by the liner Strathmore, to join-the British Commonwealth occupation force. The 119 men who contracted measles during the voyage were put ashore at Singapore. The main body of the British force is due to land on March 25. Every berth is being occupied by supply ships, six more cf which arrived to-day from Moroti, Brisbane and Sydney. The Strathmore anchored overnight alongside . H.M.S. Duke of York. The aircraftcarrier Glory is arriving in an already overcrowded harbour on March 24 and will bring the famec. R.N.Z.A.F. Corsair Squadron, Reuter's Tokio eorrespondent says the British Commonwealth occupation zone has been extendec. to include the entire island of Shikoku as part of the new arrangement for the distribution of the Allied occupation forces based on present troop strength.
