Brilish Mission Leaves MEMBERS CONFIDENT

W. j Pethick Lawrence, before taking off, i said the object of the mission was! to "bring the greatest assistance to; the peoples of India in obtftiningi their right place in equality ofj nations." j Sir Stafford said: "I have the| highest hopes that we will be able! to work with the Indians to bring j about the measure of independence| to which Mr. Atlee referred to in the j House of Commons." The third mernber of the mission, I Mr. A. V. Alexander, is flying by a ' different route. Before his depart- ; ure he said: "We hope for good . results. We may be away weeks or | maybe months."
