An inquiry was heid into the falling of Night Foe in the Silverstream Handicap on the first day of the Wellington meeting, and after hearing the evidence of H. McDonald, rider of the horse, the judicial comniittee found .that the fa.ll was caused through Night Foe getting on the heels of the horse in front, and the fall was purely accidental. An inquiry was also held into the falling of Balcherrie, Peculate and Rothnic in the Tinakori Handicap, and after reading a statement from W. J. Broughton, rider of Balcherrie, it was found that Balcherrie stumbled and fell and that the occurrence was purely accidental, and also that the track con tributed in no way to the fall.
