PERSIAN NEWSPAPERS AVOIDING COMMENT

V- Received Monday, 11 a.m. LONDON, March 17. It is stated in Teheran that no Persian troops have been sent towards Karaj, twenty miles west of Teheran, where the Russians are reported fco be strengthening their forces, says Reuier's Teheran correspondent. The capital itself has not received reinforcements apart from troops withdrawn from Jarmsar, seventy-five miles east cf Teheran, where a Persian Cabinet member stated that they had been stopped by Russian forces while on their way fco occupy place in east Persia which the Russians were expected to evacuate. It is reported that lorry loads of infantry have added 2000 to the origlnal Russian force of from 600 to 700 at Karaj, but a Russian troop train frcm Kazvin, ninety miles westward, has been held up by Roods. The Persian newspapers are avoiding comment on the ! Russian activities in Persia, and are reporting the Russian ! troop movements under the headline of "What Foreign Radios Say."
