WEELIiNuTOJN, Alarcii 13. 5 lieduoed rates of postage for eorrcspoiulcnce addressed to personnel of .1Force and also to otlier New Zealaud ' and British Forces personnel still serving overseas wero announced by the Acting Bostmaster-General (Hon. E. Jones).
The rates are: Air letter-cards, 3d eacli; air-niail letters, 5d each toz.; >urface letters, 2d tirst oz.., Ul each adilitional loz.; newspapers, -Id each 4oz.; pareels, up to 81b ls, up> to 711). 2s, up to 111b. 3s.
These rates wtll apply iimnediately. Correspondence, he said, nmst bear, m addition to' tlie addressee's nuniber, uaine, rank and unit, the indicator NZAPO 222 for Armv personnel (or NZAPO 333 for Air Force personnel), followed by the words "British Ooinmonwealth Occupation Force, Japan." This address sliould be shown in full. As soon as the arrangements could ite niade by the overseas authorities concerned, telegraphic niessages for all British forces in Japan would be accepted at the Empire rates. In addition, the 2s (id coneession rate service would also be available Mr. Jones added tliat it was hoped that tlie necessary arrangements would be completed by the time J-Force arrived at its destination.
