COLONIES MADE PART OF FRANCE
Received Friday, 10.5 a.m. PARIS, March 14. Four French colonies were made part of France in a Bill passed by the Constituent Assembly conferring the status of French Departments on the Martinique and Guadeloupe reunion and French Guiana. The changeover takes place on January 1, 1947, and it means that the colonies with a population of 800,000 will- be controlled by the Ministry of the Interior under the same laws as France.
