Personal Mrs. Bowden, of Wellington, has been on a brief visit to Otaki. Mr. Kaberry, Inspector oi Fisheries, was among the visitors to Otaki yesterday. Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Berry and Miss Berry, who have been spending a holiday in Otaki, have left for Wellington prior to returning to their home at Masterton. Mr. L. G. Gimblett is at present confmed to his bed through illness, and at last night's meeting of the Otaki Borough Council was granted leave of absence. Mr. and Mrs. "Ted" Hawker, of Carterton, were among the visitors to Otaki yesterday. Before returning home they will spend a holiday in Waikanae and Paraparaumu. The funeral of the late Mrs. Vaughan took place yesterday, when the body was interred in the Catholic cemetery. A service was held at St. Mary's Church, the Rev. Father Reader olficiatmg. Father Reader also conducted the service at the graveside. A number of beautiful floral tributes were placed on the casket. Among those in attendance at the ceremony was Mr. L. G. Lowry, M.P. Sports Postponed Owing to unfavourable weather, the sports to have been held on the domain last evening had to be postponed.
