MANUFACTURE OF TYRES

AUCKLAND, March 13. The op'inion that the prospects of the Kew Zealand tyre manufaeturing inilustry were bright was expressed by Mr. A. Armishaw, who arrived from England bv the Rimutaka this morning to (ako up the position of production inanager for the Dunlop Rubber Company (N.Z.) Ltd., which is erecting a factory at Upper Hutt. Mr. Armishaw said lechnicians vvould be coming from England later, and it was alsd hoped to rocruit a great deal of iocal labour. Plant would be arriving shortly, mostly from England, and once the building was erocted, the company would be able to go right ahead. It - was hoped that the factory would ln> using natural rubber when production started, but^that would depend 011 J control of future'supplies. He was not able to say when production would I'oinmence. Mr. Armishaw liopes to live in New Zealand permanently.
