WEDDING BELLS
STEVENS— GORDON A wedding of considerable interest was solemnised at St. Mary's Church, Levin, on February 27, the yRev. G. B. Stote-Blandy officiating. The contracting parties were Joyce Isabel, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Gordon, The Avenue, Levin, and Robert Laurie Roy Stevens, younger son of Mrs. L. L. Lovelock, Palmerston North, and the late Mr. B. Stevens, Pohangina. The church had been beautifully decorated^in white and red for the occasion by friends and relatives of the bride. The bride, who was given away by her father, made a beautiful picture as she entered the church wearing an ivory embossed satin. frock, cut on slim-fitting liries, the bodice being trimmed with tiny satin buttons from the neckline to the waist, with long tight-fitting sleeves. A spray of real blossom was worn at the neckline. The beautiful soft tulle veil, which was lent by her aunt and had also been worn by her mother, was caught by a spray of the blossom. .She carried a sheaf of white gladioli, lilies and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her two sisters, Misses Lorna and Nola Gordon, making a striking picture in their long white frocks of silk pique, made with Peter Pan collars, covered buttons to waist and full gathered skirts. They carried sheafs of scarlet gladioli, dahlias and maidenhair fern, and wore . matching sprays in their hair. The bridegroom was attended by his two brothers, Mr. M. Stevens, foesfc man, and Mr. J. M. Stevens as ■groomsman. Mr. D. J. Gordan was ushei at the church. Lat$r a reception was held at Williams' Reception Rooms, where the numerous guests were received by Mrs. Gordon wearing a liavy tailored suit, matching accessories and navy hat trimmed with white and a shoulder spray of red roses. She was assisted by Mrs. Lovelock, who was attired in a grey tailored costume, with black hat and accessories and shoulder spray of pink carnations. When the happy couple l£ft by car for their honeymoon, the bride was wearing a delphinium blue frock and coat, with navy accessqries. The 'future home of Mr. and Mrs. Stevens will be Longburn.
