KOPUTAROA'S MEETING The monthly meeting of the Koputaroa Women's Institute was held in the Settlers' Hall. Mrs. Brown presided over a good attendance of members. An apology for absen'ce was received from Mrs. Koberstein. The usual business and correspondence was dealt with before the annual report was presented, this showing a healthy balance-sheet. At the recent rally held in Shannon Koputaroa was successfuL in winning the banner for the fourth time in succession with Mrs. Chapman's entry. Then, at the Horowhenua A. and P. show first place was gained with the best artieles. Mrs. Brown thanked all who had helped to make the recent flawer show and bazaar such a success. Tpe new committee elected was as f ollows : Mesdames Koberstein (president) , Chapman (secretary) , Brown (treasurer) , Sanson, Storey, Baker, Stratton, Kilsby and McLaughlin. Mrs. Kernohan, after 14 years of committee work, is having a well-earned rest. The roll call, "An Awkward Moment," caused some amusement among members. The points prizes for the year were won by: — Seniors: Miss Fitzgerald 1, Mrs. Chapman 2, Mrs. Brown 3. Juniors: Joyce McLaughlin 1, Joan McLaughlin 2. B'est bloom: Mrs. Sanson. Shrub: Mrs. Netten; junior: Yvonne Schultz.A, dainty afternoon tea was served by the retiring committee, bringing an enjoyable meeting to a close.
