AMERICAN NAVY'S BUDGET
WASHINGTON; March 10. President Truman has sent to Congress a Budget calling for 3,275,000,000 dollars for the navy for the year endiug June 30, 1947. The navy's strength is estimatecl at 500,000 men, and also 100,000 marines. The navy proposes to contract for 275,000,000 dollars' worth of new planes to be delivered in 1948, and 227,000,000 dollars will be spent on veseaicli, ;«•
