NEW PLYMOUTH, 3Iareh 11. After the running of the Taranaki Stakes at New Plvmouth to-day, 31r. A. .1. Gilmer, the owner and trainer of Black Beret, lodged a protest against Cressida. who had linished iirst, ou the grouud tliat she had not carried the correct weiglit. After hearing the evidcnce to-night, the judicial committee npheld the protest and disqualilied Cressida under Rules 255 (1) and 272 (3) of the Rules of Racing. Black Beret was placed Iirst, Gaviumore second and Duplicity third.
