Received Tuesday, 12.45 a.m. CHUNGKING, March 11/ It is reported that street fighting is raging in Mukden between Communist and Government forces. The Ghinese Press reported that the elements of four Nationalist armies are heading towards Mukden, while Communist reinforcements are moving on Mukden from the north. The Central News Agency said the Communists had occupied the power-plant and thq. northern districts of Mukden.
Six trains have arrivcd in Changcinm irom Mukden and unloaded Soviet troops, tanks, fieid-guns and cars. Mar shal Malmovsky, who is at present in Changehun, refused to be mterviewed. Tiie newspaper Takung-Pao said tlie Rnssians had iieavily sandbagged their Cnangrhtin headquarters and converted large buildings into br.rracks. in Mukden. Generai Wedemeyer arrived in Chuagidng yesterday to confer witn C-hiang Kai shek and Generai Marshall and is expected to discuss the Russian withdrawal. Communist quarters in Chungking have received no ini'ormation regarding the fighting in Mukden, but Generai Chou En-lai adaiitted that fighting was progressing west of Mukden; also in the border region of Jehol.
