WELLINGTON, March 11. Tlxe search for the R.N.Z.A.F. Ventura aircraft which disappeared with a erew of four during a routine meteorological flight on February 28, ceased last Friday after aircraft had flown a total of 6000 miles, endeavouring to find traces of it. The search was car.ried out over land, sea and along beaches without success, and the area eovered by tlxe searcliing aircraft extended from Paekakariki to the Rangitikei River, inland to the Tararuas axxd a belt 60 miles out to sea. In additxon to aircraft specifically engaged on searching, the pilots of machines from the N.Z. squadron based at Rongotai, also commereial aircraft, kept a lookout on flights tlxrouglx the area in which the Ventura was reported missiixg.
