UNION SECRETARY SHIP Reeeived Sunday, 8.15 p.m. LONDON, March 10t Mr. Ernest Bevin, Britain's Foreign Minister,, retired yesterday on pension from the general secretaryship of Britain's Transport and General Worker's" j'nion, wMch he faunded in 1922. The union numbers 1,000,000 members.. Mr. Bevin reached the retiring age of 65 yesterday and now becomes due for benefits' from the- union's superannuation scheme-. Mr. Bevin has been on leave of absence sincc 1940,. when he. joined the National Government. The- new general' secretary, Mr.. drthur Deakin, conveyed the union's farewell greetings and good wishes.
