PRAYER
Son of the Father, who hast indweit' and glorified human flesh; Thou who didst come unto Thine ow.n, and Tnine own received Thee not, grant to us grace that we miss not tne fruits of Thine incarnation. We need Thy manifestation so sorely, and the world that sees not Thy glory is ready to perish. It is only us Thou are revealed in us that we can see Thy glory, and only | as Thou are glorified in us can we j manif est Thee to the world. O ! come, Emmanuel, even into our | hearts, that they may be filled with Thy- love; that our minds may be renewed and transformed into likeness with Thine; that our feeble and fitful will for good may be captivated and controlled by Thy good and perfect will. Come and dwell within us, that even through our flesh Thou mayst bring Thy salvation to sinful and ■ suff ering men; that we may yearn for them as Thou yearnest, and love them with a love like Thine. Thou who didst come to share with us the passion of our life, the suffering, the shame, the grief, the strife, help, us to share with Thee Thy tenderness, Thine obedience, Thy selfsacrifice, " Thy redeeming purpose. May we every one, even the humblest of us, by Thy grace, yield something to make Thy coming more real to our fellow men for the sake of Thy great love. Amen.
