AUCKLAND, AJarek /. The jMatson liner 'Monterey, which left Auckland on Februar.v 9 with a party of New Zealand wives of American servicemen, is to return to Auckland about Mareli 27 to enibark a turther 400 wives and children, accordmg to advice received by the F.-S. authorities. Two U.S. Anny transports, David C. Slianks and Fred 0. Ainswortli, are due soiue timo in April to pick up £m unstated nuuiber oi brides, thougli it is .thought the nuinber will be not as large as tliat of the Monterey 's party. The authorities emphasise tliat the arrangenients are only in the prelinnnary stage and oue or niore of the slnps m a.v be diverted. After leaving AueKland Ihe ^Monterey will proceed to Sya ney to enibark a further 415 brides. The Matson liner Lurliue, which was originally expected to arrive at Auek land on Monday to embark 300 brides, is now not due until Wednesday nexn. Jt is expected tliat she will sail for America via Sydney on Thursday npxt.
