TRAMPING CLUB REVIVED
WAR RECESS NOW OVER MEETING OF MEMBERS . After being in recess throughout ihe war years due to the fact that practically all its members were with the iorces, the Levin- Waiopehu I'rampmg Club was revived at a meeting last evening. The attendince was disappointmg, but those! present were " enthusiastic and aecided to proceed. The president (Mr. N. M. Thomson) occupied fhe chair and at the outset referred to the iosses the club nad sustained as a result of the i vvar. He said that of all those whc , nad gone overseas, two of them hau | jaid the. supreme sacnfi.ee. They vere Messrs. O, Ii. Keedwell and A. 3c. Glover, both of whom had servec /jth the Air Force overseas. Memers honoured their memory by tanding in silence. Mr. Thomson went on to say that ^ was inevitable after a lapse oi we years that members would mee ii different circumstances. To thos' /ho were not members he would ry that in Levin we had one of th ,reatest opportuniti^s for' tramping nd mountain exploration of ant :own in the Dominion. Mr. Thomson then indicated thc ?eneral lines on which he thoughf he club should be reformed, and z /.eneral discussion followed. It v:as finally decided to revivc the club and those present pledgar -hemselves as members and to givr their full support in obtaining nev members. A sub-committee crmprising \4isses Lacey and A. Moxham and Messrs. P. Stannard, B. Lacey and G. H. Kerslake was set up to makc arrangements for the, club's first monthly evening on March 26 which it is hitended all memberr and intending members shoulc attend. The appointment of offi cers was deferred until that meeting. • : •
