The delegates to the Uuited Fire Brigades' eonfereuce, after discussing the recent fire eniergency in the Taupo district, instructed the executive to-make. repr.eseutations to the Minister of lnternal Aft'airs with a view to the organisation of a more efficient eniergency firefighting serviee. Superintendeut N. G. Buick, of Palmerston North, expressed the opinion that a better organisation was needeo to handle a'national emergency like the buslifii-es in the Taupo district.
