WEDDING BELLS

GALYER — STEVENSON A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Mary's Church, Otaki, on Saturday, . March 2, between Evelyn Jean, only daughter of Mrs. D. Murphy and Leslie Oliver, son of Mr. and Mrs. Galyer, of Fresno, California. The officiating priest was Rev. Father Hendren. The bride wore a beautiful longtrained white satin frock, embroidered in white at the shaped waist. An embroidered veil gathered into an orange flower coronet and white shoes completed her toilette. Miss Becty Conis was bridesmaid, and wore a dress of dainty pink,, with veil and head spray to match. Little Heneti Webber, acting as ilower giri and train-bearer, looked lovely in a pale blue, gathered, full-length frock, with head spray and bouquet to tone. The bride entered the church and was given away by her step-father, Mr. D. Murphy. During the signing of the register Mrs. Ransfield, organiSit, and Miss Rosie Hakaraia rendered the solo "Ave Maria," and another hymn in a beautiful sympathetic voice. The best man was Mr. Jack Stevensen, brother of the bride. As the happy couple left the church,. the bride was presented with a lucky horse shoe by Miss Barbara Wilkinson. The reception was held in the Parish Hall. The guests were received by Mrs. Murphy, assisted by Mrs. Porter, of Waikanae, who, with her husband, represented the bridegroom's 'parents. Mrs. Murphy wore a navy dress trimmed with white braiding, with hat to match, and Mrs. Porter wore a black trimmed duck-egg blue ensemble. A generous wedding breakfast was catered for by Mrs. Royal, and Father Hendren acted as master of ceremonies. All toasts were proposed and 'carried with musical honours. Mr. Porter made touching reference to the bridegroom's parents who were unable to be present. The bride's going away dress was of saxe blue, the bodice being of lighter and darker shades. She wore a black coat, hat and shoes. The lucky couple were 'the recipients of a large number of beautiful f and useful gifts. The^hdneymoon will be spent in Hawke's Bay. ,
