WELLINGTON. March 4. Returns of stocks aud shipments of wool for January sliow that 151,869 bales of wool were appraised and 135,549 bales shipped, so that there was a sliglit increase in the wool held in the Dominion, says the New Zealand Wool Board's report of a recent. meeting. The largest quantity of the wool was shipped to France. It was agreed that two members would represent the board at a meeting of the executive committee of the International Wool Secretariat to be held in London soon. A meoting of representatives of the New Zeaiand Wool Board, the New Zeaiand Meat Producers' Board, the New Zeaiand Dairy Board and the Federated Farmers was held and it decided that there was very great urgency in tlie setting up of a Royal Commission to carry out rd authoritative investigation into the sheep farming industry. particularly as it relates to second and third class and marginal lands in New Zeaiand.
