Once again tiie i-ounting o± the re turus for National Savings deposits revealed a very satisf'actorv .effort on the part of the Palmerston North district. The city Jed off with conviiicing figures, £2996 11s 9d being obtained last week. The country offices wero uot to be denied in their individual eft'orts, and two towns also .obtained four-ligure totals. Levin occupied pride of place ivith £1443 10s. Feilding fol lowed with £1214 14s. Then came Ash hdrst £469 19s, Pahiatua £333 14s lld little Manakau £303, Bulls £294 15s. Foxton £230, Dannevirke £228 14s 6d, and Halcombe £106 11s. These v6ry liigh totals resulted in the district rtiore than doubling its weekly quota. the actual figures being £7916 13s 9d The following 20 towns obtained theii weekly quota: Palmerston North, Apiti Ashhurst, Bulls, Dannevirke, Feilding, Foxton, Halcombe, Kimbolton, Levin, Manakau, Pahiatua, Pongaroa, Rangiotu, Rangiwahia, Rongotea, Sanson, Shannon, Weber and Weraroa.
