J-FORCE BOYS LEAVE

Of the local boys who entered - eamp to-day as members of -the occupacion force for Japan, two are "grim digs" who have 8een rnuch service during the war. Jim Robinson, a well known lad, has , agam been bitten by the "wander bug." Jim left New Zealand with the First Echelon and saw service - v/ith the Div. Medical Corps in the desert, and after his return from New Zealand furlough saw much action inTtaly. Norm. Saunders, or "Shorty" as he is better known, Is also a '•first ech" man, having served for almost six years in the army. He was taken prisoner • in Orete in 1941 and spent four years in Gerrnan prison camps until released by the American Forces in April, 1945. Norm. returned to New Zealand about six months ago. To these "grim digs," and the new ones too, we extend all the very best, and wish them a safe return to this eountry.
