Shannon. The president of the women's section oi the Shannon R.b.A. (Mrs. Guerin) also expressed pieasure ai having the boys liome again anct hoped t'hat the wives ana mothers of all returned men womd j oin tnt women's seotion. Mrs. Guerin then briefly outlined the work of the woman's section. t The next speaker wais Mr. A. Gillespie, who spoke 011 behalf of the Shannon Football Club. Mr. Gillespie said that he hoped within the next week or two to see most of the lads don the oid red jersey ! again, and make the Shannon Ciub . the best in the district. During his remarks Mr. J. T. | Bovis brought to the notice of those 1 present the great work done by the | various organisations in keeping up I the supply of parcels to the loeal I boys overseas. The Women's lnstitute and the W.D.F.U., as well as the R.S.A. , had done a wonderful job in sending parcels to the locai j men, as well as giving freely to the INational Patriotic Fund. I As usual, the boys, in replying, were briei yet to tne point. They all expressed pleasure at being 1 nome again and thanked j various organisations for sending ; uhe much needecl paree/.s. f Dancing was resumsd until the early hours of the morning to the morning to the music of Biiiy Lar- : kin and his band, Among the. visitors present was Mrs. W. L. Gleal, of Levin.
