At a later date applieations for trade training will be solieited from members of the Interim Air Force to meet serviee requireinents in tlu trades coneerned. 7. — Period of Enlistment Applieations will be considered for tlie following periods t'rom the date of eomineneement of duty, viz., eitlier to: (i) 31st Mareli, 1947, or (ii) 3(Jth September, 1947, oi* (iii) 31st Mareh, 1948. Tlie Ilepavtment undertakes to velease personnel on the eonclusion of their period of engagement, and sul)ject to the exigencies of tlie serviee will grant on application an extension of the original term of engageinent for a period not beyond the 31st Mareh, 1948. The Department reserves the right to diseharge any personnel prior to the eonelusiou of the term of engagement whose services prove unsatisfactorv. Any nienibor of the interim Air Force who is aecepted for employment in civil aviatioib will be releascd at any time on tlie request ot' the proper employing auth iritv. 8 — Rank on Enlistment All memliers of tlie Air Training Corps, civilians and all personnel not previously employed in tlie li.X.Z.A.F. will be enlisted * in the rank of Aircraftman, 2nd Class, (iroup V, unless by reason of any special skill, iiieluding Xaval or Army training, thev can be employed in a higlier rank or trade group. Memliers of tlie R.X.Z.A.F. Keserye or discharged personnel will lic enlisted in sucli ranks and trades as will best assist tlie rcplaceinent plau. Tlie position will vary according to the position in ea'h trade, and volunteers from ex-serving personnel will lie gi\eu the opjiortunity of withdruwing their applieations if'either tlie rank or trade ofiered proves unsatisfactorv. 9. — Rates of Pay The existing rates of pay and nllowanees, will be maintained up until 31st Mareh, 1947, witli the e.xception of gratuities. Personnel now servina. in tlie R.X.Z.A.F. will reeeive pavment of gratuities up until 8lst Mareh, 1946, but in view* of the short period involved, it is not proposed to make sueh pavments to personnel entering or '*eengaging in tlie Serviee between now and tlie 31st Mareh, 1946. Gratuities will be paid as at present to all personnel serving overseas.
