The men did j not leave their machines as often as , the women; there was less absentee- j ism and higher generai production, j The firm is employing all the men it can get. A Sydney restaurant has replaced all its waitresses with former Merehant Navy and Army ste wards. In explanation, the tnanager said that the customers were tired of the war- | time "take it or leave it" attitud'e ; of the waitresses. Other restaurants are following suit.
