Teacher creches backed
The Canterbury Education Board believes creche facilities may solve the staffing problem in country schools. The board has received a letter from the Wellington Education Board, which is worried about the difficulty involved in attracting teachers to country areas because of the lack of child-minding facilities. The Canterbury board will recommend to the Education Boards' Association that creches be considered in areas where teacher shortages are a problem.
