Ensors Rd closed

Ensors Road, between Sullivan Avenue and Opawa Road, will be closed for days from tomorrow morning. The street will be closed to all traffic from 7.30 a.m. tomorrow until 4.30 p.m. on Monday. During that time workers will re-lay the railway lines at the Ensors Road level-crossing. The Christchurch City Council will rebuild the road on the south approach to the crossing. Mr Bruce Scott, the council’s streetworks engineer, said the Ensors Road dual carriageway and the extension of

Brougham Street from Opawa Road to Ensors' Road would open in early May. Once the railway lines have been re-laid and Ensors Road reopened on Monday, alterations to the level-crossing signalling equipment will be done and the enlarged Brougham Street-Ensors Road intersection built.
