We are looking for someone who can liaise with unemployed groups and people in Government Departments. This is a fieldwork position and we want someone who can work independently in the community. The Group Employment Liaison Scheme consists of a network of 25 fieldworkers throughout the country, and a three person Head Office unit. The Fieldworkers work with groups of unemployed such as gangs, worktrusts, and community groups who want to work together and who are often the least advantaged in the Labour Market. Fieldworkers provide a link between these and various Government Departments who offer employment and training assistance. They give out information on the assistance available and help groups sort out which assistance will best suit their needs and how to apply for it. The Fieldworker is responsible to the Chief Executive Officer (GELS), Head Office, and will be located in a community facility outside Department of Labour Offices.
