This yearling, by Noodlum from Neat Meadow, realised a record price for a filly when sold at the national standardbred yearling sales in Christchurch yesterday. Offered on behalf of Roydon Lodge Stud, Weedons, she was bought for $36,000 by Mr Mick Lombardo, of Perth. The previous record price was $29,000, paid in 1985. Earlier in the day the stud sold a filly by Smooth Fella from Hurricane Star to Mr John O’Dea, of Hawera, for $32,500.
