Sergeant Brian Stooke, aged 41, is a paraplegic confined to .a wheelchair.' His spine was damaged when he and another policeman were shot and wounded by a gunman last year. Two other policemen were shot and wounded.« The gunman who shot Sergeant Stooke has not been found and is on the Victorian Police’s top 10 list of wanted men.
