R r viewed by Elody Mid-week madness seemed to hit the Fringe Festive and the various visiUnt artists celebrated WUhat they called their "Gong Show.’’ For a fringe festival, la* "evening seemed t 0
The audience was promised the power of the gong to cut short any act they thought unsatisfactory, but they showed their sympathy for, or was it. empathy with, the artists by being most restrained in their use of this power. The show was strung together by the Jester (Jonathan Acorn) and the Clown (Chris Hegan). They provided introductions to each act and took i the opportunity to demonstrate their own abilities
which stretched from song and satire to juggling and clowning. The other acts themselves were mixed in competence and originality.
