S.I. marching contenders
Ten teams in three grades will represent Canterbury at the South Island marching championships at Fraser Park, Timaru, on February 22 and 23.
The senior title contenders are Uniflex Packaging Pioneers, Phoenix Rangers, Avon City Ford Sierras and Skellerup Allstars. The junior entrants are Uniflex Packaging Pioneers, Avon City Ford Telstars and Skellerup Comets, and the midget teams will be Avon City Ford Lasers, Skellerup Crackerjacks and Fern Paints Pioneers. Championship hopefuls will complete their preparations at the Christchurch association and Avon City Ford marching teams’ combined weekend at Halswell Domain next Saturday and Sunday.
