The great 'Dynasty' secret will be revealed at last.
As the Carringtons and Colbys gathered at the royal wedding of Amanda (Catherine Oxenburg) and Prince Michael (Michael Praed) in the kingdom of Moldavia, a band of terrorists attacked, leaving the family members in a bloody pile on the chapel floor, their bodies riddled with bullets...
“Dynasty” fans will discover just who survived the onslaught this evening on Two at 8.30 when the top-rating soap opera begins its sixth season.
While the survivor list is being guarded like a palace secret, word has leaked out that viewers can probably say goodbye to Luke Fuller (William Campbell, cast in the role of Stephen Carrington’s lover), Lady Ashley (Ali McGraw) and King Galen (Joel Fabiana). The king’s death would leave open the opportunity for Prince Michael, if he lives, to ascend to the throne, making Amanda a queen and Alexis (Joan Collins) the queen mother.
One Carrington black
sheep who did not receive an invitation to the wedding was Sammy Jo (Heather Locklear), Stephen’s ex-wife and Krystle’s niece. She was back in New York, plotting to acquire the fortune of her dead father (the late Rock Hudson).
Sammy Jo, who only made a few appearances last year, is set for a big comeback in the new season, but so secret is the plot that even she does not know what is in
store for her. “I have absolutely no idea,” she says. “She' might end up a transvestite. I just don’t know.” Also making a comeback this year is Fallon, who supposedly died two seasons ago in a plane crash. But it turns out to have been a case of mistaken identity, and another actress, Emma Samms, will take Pamela Sue Martin’s place as Fallon, who may or may not
remarry Jeff (still played by John Janies). “Dynasty’s” propmen have already painted the living room portrait of Fallon to look like Emma Samms. “Through the magic of television, we’re asking viewers to accept it and go along with us,” says the set director, Brock Broughton. Linda Evans returns to her Krystle role and John Forsythe appears as Blake.
