Pope flies home
NZPA-Reuter Naples Pope John Paul II returned to Italy yesterday after a 10-day visit to India. The papal plane from Bombay was diverted to Naples because of snow on the runways at Rome’s Ciampino Airport, where it had been due to land. He arrived in New Delhi on February 1 for his 14-city visit.' The Pope was seen off at Bombay airport by local officials and the Nobel peace laureate, Mother Teresa, regarded as a living saint by many Indians.
Pope John Paul had an emotional meeting last week with Mother Teresa at her home for the destitute dying in Calcutta.
