Course for men postponed

A lunchtime course on mending, knitting, and darning for men, run by the Workers’ Educational Association, has had to be postponed. The W.E.A. programme development worker, Mr Bruce Meder, said the course would probably be held as an evening course next term. A reason for the postponment was the low number of enrolments, Mr Meder said. Only six men enrolled but about 12 were needed to make the course worth while. Several men had said they would like to attend the course, but could only do so if it was held in the evening, Mr Meder said. Another tutor would also have to be found for the course because the original one had found another job. Mr Meder said he was confident the course would go ahead.
