Youth team beaten
NZPA-AAP Wangaratta A Victorian Country XI defeated the touring New Zealand Youth team by three wickets in a thrilling finish at the Wangaratta Showgrounds yesterday. New Zealand, resting its captain and two test opening bowlers, was surprised by the Victorian Country bowlers and was dismissed for 193 in the 52nd
over. Only Blair Hartland with a well compiled 62 gave the New Zealand total some respectability. The opening fast bowler, Darren Rodda, with three for 25, and Darren Tiziani with three for 53 took the bowling honours for Victorian Country. Country scored 195 for seven in 54 overs.
