MEDICAL OFFICER - OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH CLINIC Applications are invited from registered medical practitioners for the position of Medical Officer for the Waikato Hospital Staff Occupational Health Clinic. The position Is for up to 8/10ths of a full time appointment, to be negotiated at the time the appointment Is made. The appointee will be responsible for health supervision, advice on accident prevention and health education, staff counselling, treatment of acute Illnesses and accidents occurring at work, provision of ALAC employees assistance programme and liaison with general practitioners. Waikato Hospital Is a large base hospital of almost 900 beds offering all specialties except neurosurgery and cardiac surgery and employing 2400 staff. Salary will be in accordance with Medical Officers Special Scale $36,300 to $62,600 (whole time rate), the starting level being determined by the Director General of Health on the basis of previous qualifications and experience. 2. PART-TIME (4/10ths) OPHTHALMOLOGIST Applications are invited for a part-time (4/10ths) specialist Ophthalmologist. Applicants must be qualified medical practitioners and been qualified for a period of seven years, have five years’ experience in their specialty and possess an appropriate higher qualification recognised for inclusion In the specialist registry of the New Zealand Medical Council.
