Wharf Logger top Gisborne prospect

Special correspondent Gisborne The prospects of the Te Teko four-year-old, Wharf Logger, impress for the D.B. Gisborne Hotel Handicap at Gisborne today. Wharf Logger has not raced since winning at Trentham on Wellington Cup day but he is expected to be produced in top order by his trainer,

Bob Crowley. Aggressive Lady has a good record on the track and one of her recent defeats was in the Taupo Cup by the subsequent Wairoa Cup winner, Grand Junction. Purple Reign will be a leading prospect too should he go on with his engagement, while Cinnamon Queen was another to win at Wairoa

and must give her local owners a run for their money. The form duo of Clondestine and Almagelee should produce a quick time in the second leg, the Barry Memorial, though it is likely that Wairere Lord will be vastly improved as a result of his run at Te Aroha last week.
