PA Wellington Interest rates on shortterm Treasury bills firmed at yesterday’s S2OOM tender. Yesterday’s average yields were 17.641 per cent on SIOOM of 14-day bills and 18.489 per cent on SIOOM of 35-day bills, with both maturities being up from 16.975 per cent for 21-day bills at last week’s tender. Dealers bid S4ISM for the S2OOM of bills on offer. Bills at 14 days: Offered, $100M; bid, $194; sold, $100; successful yields, 16.5 per cent to 18.04 per cent; weighted average, 17.641; previous average, 16.975 for 21-day bills; unsuccessful bids, 18.04 to 20.85. Bills at 35 days: Offered, S100M; bid, $221; sold, $100; successful yields, 17 per cent to 19.24 per cent; weighted average, 18.489; previous average, 16.975 for 21-day bills; unsuccessful bids, 19.24 to 21.02.
