Cable-car proposal
Sir, — I would like reassurance that the Canterbury United Council, as the sole guardians of the Summit Road Protection Act, will honour the spirit of the act and consider very carefully before making any decision about the gondola project Passed in 1963 after over half a century of effort by Harry Ell, this act aims to preserve the natural scenic amenities of the Summit Road. I cannot see any way that this gondola proposal enhances the natural environment. — Yours etc., M. DOWDS. February 9, 1986.
