Action aplenty in ‘Terminator’

THE TERMINATOR Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Biehn, Linda Hamilton Roadshow Distributors 106 min, M. The Terminator, part machine, part man, has been sent on a special mission from the future to change the course of history. His mission is to kill a young woman, Sarah Connor, whose life will have a great significance in the decades to come.

Kyle Reese, a young guerrilla fighter arrives next, sent back in time to protect the Terminator’s unsuspecting victim. He must rely on his training, strength and skills to adapt to this strange world; find the girl and protect her from the onslaught of the killing machine. As the two close in on her, Sarah follows

the normal routine of her life — a student working part-time as a waitress — and is completely unprepared for the violent upheaval about to be thrust on her. The Terminator leaves a trail of deaths and destruction behind him, and just as he corners her in a crowded, nightclub, Reese intercepts and the two warriors rage battle before the terrified girl.

She is reluctant to flee with Reese because she is just as afraid of him until she sees the indestructible Terminator rise from the wreckage, after taking several direct hits from a shotgun. They escape in a stolen car, and the chase is on to the film’s tensionbreaking finish. The picture and audio quality are very good; action aplenty.
