Explosive thrown
An explosive was thrown in the compound of a church in the heart of Bombay, slightly injuring two people, hours before Pope John Paul II arrived.—Bombay. Bridge walk An iron bridge linking West Berlin and the East German city of Potsdam is the link for an East-West exchange of prisoners including the Soviet dissident, Anatoly Shcharansky. Nine people are expected to walk the bridge across the frozen Havel River — five to the communist Potsdam side and four into West Berlin.— West Berlin.
Customs raid
The racehorse owner, Robert Sangster, was to be questioned by Customs officials after a series of raids by tax investigators, the "Sunday People” newspaper said. Other top names in the sport had already been interviewed after allegations of possible irregularities over bonuses from owners to jockeys.—London.
