Beauties, Beast return

A new time, a different channel, and a new variety of panellists herald the return of "Beauty And The Beast” today. Daily from Monday to Friday on Two at 1.30 p.m. viewers will be able to join Selwyn Toogood and a panel of four for half-an-hour looking at the problems facing everyday New Zealanders.

In the first programme the Minister of Police, Social Welfare and Women’s Affairs, Mrs Hercus, answers a writer’s queries about the Domestic Purposes Benefit, deals with the need to help those living with an older, invalid relative, and also provides her solution to removing stains from nappies.

With Mrs Hercus on the panel are Suzanne Mitchell, the co-ordinator of the Dunedin Refuge; Erenora Puketapu-Hetet of Wellington, a Maori weaver and expert in Kohanga Reo education, and the Christchurch actress Elizabeth Moody.
