Devoy retains squash rank
AFP Paris The world champions, Jahangir Khan, of Pakistan, and Susan Devoy, of New Zealand, keep their places at the top of the latest International Squash Players’ Association rankings. Jahangir, who won a record fifth men’s title at Cairo last year, is ahead of Ross Norman, the New Zealander whose career almost ended in a parachuting accident two years ago. Norman took Jahangir to four games in the Cairo final.
Gawain Briars, the first Englishman to reach the world championship semifinals last year, has risen to No. 4, the highest position achieved by an Englishman since the association began its rankings 12 years ago. Injury brought Australia’s Chris Dittmar down from No. 2 to No. 7.
