Gunn, Murdoch in top form
Both games were drawn in the Christchurch women’s cricket competition on Saturday.
The uneven bounce on the wickets and long grass in the outfield were not conducive to good cricket. St Albans declared 63 in arrears against Riccarton after being tied down by tight bowling from Karen Gunn and Delwyn Costello. Batting a second time, Riccarton went through to 139 for the loss of only one wicket. Gunn and Lesly Murdoch were in commanding form sharing a partnership of more than 100 runs.
