E.E.C. freeze on milk and meat?
PA • Wellington News that the European Commission plans to freeze farmers’ milk and beef prices has sent New Zealand trade circles scrambling for more details. A radio report yesterday said that the European Agriculture Commissioner, Mr Frans Andriessen, wants to freeze European farm product prices. The Minister of Overseas Trade and Mar-
triumph but he wanted more information before commenting further. Such a move would cut the cost of the European Community’s expensive agriculture policy and curb its spiralling production. In the meantime, Mr Moore has welcomed Mr Andriessen’s plan to' dispose “responsibly” of 60 per cent of Community surpluses on world markets during...the next -.three years, announced earlier this week.
