‘Family’ table tennis
A strong family flavour ran through Christchurch interclub table tennis this week, with the father and son duos of Barry and Evan Radford and Bruce and Steven Lockhart, together with cousins Graeme and Jeremy Simons, and brothers Darrin and Karl Entwistle, all competing in the top grade. The previous joint leader, Riccarton NoJi, fell behind the Avonside second team on the points table by winning by only seven games to five. Riccarton II has been joined in second place by the Avonside first team, which had a good 11-1 win. Brian Wilson, Michael Warren, and Michael Burrows carried Avonside No. 11 into a clear lead with their 12-0 whitewash of Linwood. A grade results: — Avonside I 11,
