News Limited, publishes the Taranaki Herald and the Daily News, and provides commercial printing and typesetting servies in the Taranaki area. The company has a turnover of $l4 million and employs 280 personnel. The combined circulation of the morning and evening newspapers is 35,000. The General Manager reports to the General Manager. Newspapers Division of N.Z. News Limited and is responsible for the planning, direction, monitoring and control of the operations of Taranaki Newspapers Limited, to achieve corporate returns on funds employed, targets and long term corporate objectives for growth. The position is suported by experienced editorial, circulation, advertising, printing and production personnel. REQUIREMENTS lndustry experience of management level is desirable, although not essential. A strong marketing philosophy supported by financial acumen and profit centre management ability. Leadership qualities backed by balanced interpersonal skills to relate to and motivate an experienced management team. The capacity to meet the requirements of a “high profile” rote in business and the community at large. Age range flexible but preferably 35-45 age range.
