Airline pilots

Sir,—Airline pilots are some of the better-paid members of New Zealand society. As such they are not in need of large increases in pay. For them to suggest employing methods that will Increase the costs of Air New Zealand operations until the corporation gives in to the pilots’ demands, and thus increase the cost of air transport to the nation is economic and possibly political malice. I have met few people who support this self-centred greed which appears to activate a handful of key personnel who are already comfortably well off. — Yours, etc., PETER G. FINDLAY.
